Snorkeling in Hanauma Bay?

If I bring my own Dive Mask and Snorkel can the general public go snorkeling in Hanuama Bay?? Has anyone been there before? Does it get crowded in mid January?

Yes, bring your own, or rental is like, $9. It gets crowded from around 9 am, to after lunch. Parking is that hardest, unless you get there early. Don’t park on side of road, you will be ticketed or towed. It’s closed….tuesdays?? Call the number for more info….

where can i get a snorkel mask that has the pipe coming out of the top?

Hanauma Bay is an amazing, beautiful place. Inside the reef is easy snorkeling for beginners. More experienced snorkelers may want to explore out past the first reef for a wider variety of fish & less crowds. The bay is open every day but Tuesdays. You can drive there, take the Beach Bus from Waikiki (I think it only runs on w/e’s), or a do paid tour. Avoid the paid tours. They cannot bring you into the bay. You can bring your own equipment.

Here is a good link to info about the bay:

I live ~ 5 miles from the bay
