Do you need to know how to swim to snorkel?

Going on a cruise and i want to snorkel but i only know how to swim under water, don’t think this is a big deal being that Snorkeling IS underwater. Has anyone ever went snorkeling but didn’t know how to swim on top of the water? Will they still let me do it?

so I recommend you to learn how to swim first, or find adult swimmer who will watch over you. Don’t rely on tourist’s service to watch over you.

If you don’t know how to swim at all, that may be a problem. But snorkeling is just floating on top of the water. You don’t have to go fully under if you don’t want to. Its cooler if you do, but not necessary. You could always wear a life vest.
